State of NYC Dance: Findings from the Dance Industry Census | A Research Performance Event + Community Gathering Event for the Dance Industry

About the event

On December 12, 2023, Dance/NYC unveiled the research findings in a hybrid performance event and community gathering curated by Alejandra and produced by Dance/NYC at New York City’s Chelsea Factory. It gave participants and stakeholders from across the field the opportunity to learn more about what the Census found, what it means for the future of the dance industry, and what actions they can take to build a thriving dance ecosystem.

A part of Dance/NYC’s Dance. Workforce. Resilience. (DWR) Initiative, the event was curated by Alejandra Duque Cifuentes in partnership with the Dance/NYC staff. It featured performances and directorial collaboration by Sydnie L. Mosley Dances, Ladies of Hip Hop, and j. bouey; remarks by members of the DWR Advisory Group; and a community meal.
