ADC TEAM Alejandra Duque Cifuentes

ADC Consulting provided Dance/NYC wrap-around services on retainer. Primary projects included:

State of NYC Dance: Dance Industry Census Research Study & Publication
Launched in July 2022, the Dance Industry Census is the first comprehensive research study that aims to better understand the size, makeup, health and state of the dance ecosystem in the metropolitan New York City area in order to address economic inequities in the field and ensure that all dance workers are recognized and represented.

Formerly, in her role as Dance/NYC’s Executive Director, ADC Consulting’s Alejandra Duque Cifuentes conceived and initiated this study as a part of Dance/NYC’s Dance. Workforce. Resilience. Initiative. Working alongside colleague, Carrie Blake, Alejandra developed the study’s research methodology and protocol, oversaw data collection process, and communications infrastructure. In December 2023, ADC Consulting closed out the research analysis process, by supporting the Dance/NYC team in the analysis, writing, and publication of the census findings.

It's your go-to destination—for individuals and organizations alike—to foster more inclusive and equitable practices across the industry.

State of NYC Dance: Dance Industry Census Research Performance Event and Community Gathering

On December 12, 2023, Dance/NYC unveiled the research findings in a hybrid performance event and community gathering curated by Alejandra and produced by Dance/NYC at New York City’s Chelsea Factory. It gave participants and stakeholders from across the field the opportunity to learn more about what the Census found, what it means for the future of the dance industry, and what actions they can take to build a thriving dance ecosystem.

A part of Dance/NYC’s Dance. Workforce. Resilience. (DWR) Initiative, the event was curated by Alejandra Duque Cifuentes. It featured performances by Sydnie L. Mosley Dances, Ladies of Hip Hop, and j. bouey, remarks by members of the DWR Advisory Group, and a community meal.

ADC Consulting provided curatorial, facilitation, and directorial services for the execution of this event.
