As part of the NDPF Public Digital Sessions, Presenting & the Dance Ecosystem considered the role of presenters within the larger dance ecosystem in the United States. Participants had the opportunity to hear from a panel of dance workers who play an integral part of bringing dance works and audiences together, including: choreographers, agents & managers, and creative producers.

As part of the NDPF Public Digital Sessions, this session focused on unpacking the characteristics of “just” presenting and the role presenters have in advancing a more equitable and just future in dance. Participants had the opportunity to hear from BIPOC, disabled, LGBTQIA+, and immigrant artists and their partnering presenters about what makes “just” presenting partnerships possible.

Understanding Arts Service Organizations in a Changing Arts Ecosystem: Findings From Phase 1 Background Research
On Friday, May 31, 2024, ADC Consulting and colleagues presented the findings of Phase 1 Background Research through a digital research release event. The event also unpacked the learnings, challenges, and focus areas for the next phase of research— including the release of the National ASO List & Data Tool which acts as an open data resource for the sector.

State of NYC Dance: Findings from the Dance Industry Census | A Research Performance Event + Community Gathering Event for the Dance Industry
On December 12, 2023, Dance/NYC unveiled the research findings in a hybrid performance event and community gathering at New York City’s Chelsea Factory. It gave participants and stakeholders from across the field the opportunity to learn more about what the Census found, what it means for the future of the dance industry, and what actions they can take to build a thriving dance ecosystem.
